Since the confirmation is aimed at new players, I'm told there's a special boon for playing with a '0 xp' character. Recently my wife and I played 'we be goblins' and was wondering if we'd be eligible for this. So we have one scenario to apply to a character that doesn't exist yet. If we played lvl 1 pregens for 'the confirmation' would it still count as a '0 xp' character since it doesn't exist yet? Or would it not count since even though it doesn't exist it still has 1 xp from we be goblins?

Here's my take on it:
There are two different special Chronicle rewards for Confirmation. One can only benefit a character that has 0xp (which your characters wouldn't count as) and one is applied to the first character to run that Scenario. So your options would be to run the scenario with your existing 1xp characters and get the "Once Only" reward, or create a new character to run Confirmation with.
Confirmation is repeatable, so if you decide that you really want the "0 XP" reward, you can always run it again! :) Both of the rewards are "nice to have" though not critical

As a note, I now have 6 characters that have The Confirmation as their first chronicle sheet. None of them have used the 0xp boon. It's not a big deal to miss out on.
To be a little more specific, the 0xp boon is a discount on a specific category of "vanities" (which are a form of reward you can buy using prestige points) from the Pathfinder Society Field Guide and the Pathfinder Society Primer, and the majority of players I've played with have never purchased any of these vanities, despite them already being relatively affordable.
And the whole thing becomes moot if you don't own either book yet, as you can't buy the vanities if you don't have the book they're from, which newer players are likely to lack.
Personally, I would just play the scenario with your existing characters, if that's what you'd prefer to do in the absence of special rewards.
