I also picked up Tangled for my baby girl. She's seen it on one of the Disney channels, so I know she likes it.
So now she has one more way to torment her brother.
Woot! Heard from a guy I used to work with. He left the company to take a higher paying job elsewhere, and that company is looking for a PM and backup ME. Might be just the thing I need.
Watched Civil War with the wife tonight. Swear it was like watching with a damned 10 year old. Constant questions!
Seriously, doesn't anyone pay attention to what goes on in every single Marvel movie anymore?
Also, they had a really cool little extra feature on Doctor Strange. Lots of concept art, especially some shots of the exterior of the Sanctum Sanctorum. And a bit more on the motivation of the villain. Either way, I'm really looking forward to that movie.
Civil War had only a few deleted/extra scenes. There was one in particular that I felt should have been included. It was very short, and would have helped move the plot along a bit.
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

But it is! The sun is shining. The water is wet. The sky is blue.

Trying a recipe mix-up:
Brisket recipe calls for letting the meat sit overnight in the fridge while coated in a garlic and onion paste. I'm applying that idea to a stuffed pork loin recipe I have.
For the stuffed pork loin, I cut a hole through the middle and slip in some sausage. In my case, I keep it simple with some Hillshire Farm Smoked Sausage.
Tomorrow, I'll pop the pork loin in the smoker.
Now, I just have to figure out what type of wood might go best with it. I think I have about 6 or 7 different kinds.
As a side note - the garlic and onion paste smells absolutely fantastic.
And it's very simple to make: garlic, onion, black pepper, cayenne pepper, lemon juice, all mixed up in a blender.
I guess I should finally get around to setting up the new computer the wife ordered.
First things first! Methinks a second cup of coffee is in order.
Caught Tears of the Sun on one of the movie channels last night. I had not realized it was directed by the same guy who did Training Day and (more recently) The Equalizer.
Tears, of course, has two of my favorites - Bruce Willis and Monica (hubba hubba) Bellucci.
Antoine Fuqua - that's the director's name. Dude is good. I'll have to compare him to the Scott brothers, in that he's made several movies I thoroughly enjoy and own copies of.
He's also got the upcoming remake of The Magnificent Seven, another Denzel movie. I'm not usually big on remakes, but this should be pretty kick ass.
I was going to install CC3 on the new desktop, and decided to check out the ProFantasy website first, to see if there was any interesting new stuff. Sure enough, there was...
CC3+ is an upgrade, supposed to work faster and easier, as well as look nicer. I had to check with the fine folks at PF first, to see if I need to install my copy of CC3 in order to upgrade.
Hmmmm.....Looks like a cat fight went on in some other parts of the messagebaords.
Otherwise.....HAPPY FRIDAY!
My smoked pork loin from yesterday was very delicious. I had enough left over so that I can mix it with some rice and get at least two lunches.
The boy got in trouble at school the other day for talking too much in class. It's something I had been expecting. The fact it took so long, I was starting to wonder if he was a pod person.
Family movie night tonight. I think the wife might have extended and invitation to my brother and his family. Not sure if they accepted.
There's a jogging club at the boy's school, and he has expressed interest in joining. Apparently, he's been participating, but if I sign him up he'll get a card and his jogs will be officially recorded.
His cousins participate as well: Boy cousin helps run the club. Girl cousin jogs.
Probably going to hit the comic book store today. I think the new Doom Patrol starts up this week, but I didn't put it on my list.
Positive waves, m~+~#~$~*!%*s. Positive waves.
I stepped on a snake today. Granted, a small, garden snake of some kind.
Still startled the f#@# out of me.
Ye gods! 0730 and we've already got Frozen on the TV.
In other sad news, there are two old dress shirts I like to wear around the house (untucked, sleeves rolled up, and only half-way buttoned). Sadly they have now both seen better days. The left sleeve on each has become torn and tattered. I think I'll have to throw them out.
A bit more history on my shirts. My mother bought them for me as part of a three shirt set (one red, one blue, one striped), years ago when I moved up to Philly. They were always a bit too big on my for me to wear in the normal way, so for years they just sat in my closet.
However, over time I've become much like my father in that I like to wear a shirt with a pocket. So I took to wearing these shirts during the warmer months in Philly. They weren't too heavy to wear over a t-shirt.
Since moving to Texas, I was only wearing them in the house, usually in the morning or at night watching TV.
The striped shirt from the set, hardly ever worn, is still in my closet. It's about to become my go-to house shirt.
Apparently, yesterday was Batman Day. F%*& that s&@%. For me, any day can be Batman Day.
Started fooling around with CC3+ yesterday. I hate these long bouts of not doing anything with my map making - I tend to forget how to do s~*! in the program.
I'm considering maybe purchasing ProFantasy's Tome of Ultimate Mapping. Gonna see how much it is first.
For those who have seen The Angry Birds Movie: I have come to the conclusion I am Red.
Also, the Lake of Wisdom scene is both hilarious and deeply disturbing.
Thirdly, Peter Dinklage as MIGHTY EAGLE is absolutely f%@%ing awesome!
Plenty of yard work done this morning! Which is good. My poor garden really needed it.
The boy came out to help me with the yard work. I think it was in the hopes he'd see the little garden snake we have living out front somewhere.
Alas, we did not see him.
We did see both a baby frog and an adult frog. So that's something.
As with every year, I picked up new Halloween decorations. This year, I have limited myself however. I only bought a new dog statue for my cemetery, and a snake skeleton.
I only buy headstones and such from Target. They always have the heavy stuff. I can't stand the Styrofoam headstones.
The kids were watching Snow White on one of the Disney channels. Such an awesome flick. It amazes me, when I think about the amount of effort and love that went into that work.
The Fantastic Four Food Groups!
Ye gods! If my kids are bugging the s~!$ out of other so much at this young of ages, I dread when they are teens. Might have to invest in some chloroform.
Must. Resist. Temptation. To. Commit. Mass. Thread. Necromancy.
I has failed. Thread necromancy has occurred.
Happily, I am no longer sad at this thought.
On the other hand, it is fun to see some of the wacky and weird s+%% we used to post about.
Before the dark times....
Before the SJWs.
