Of course, now the wife will probably expect me to go buy replacement baby aspirin for the bottle the dog dropped in pee the other day. SO that will be one more place I have to go.
Luckily, I think I can accomplish all three tasks around the same time. And if the scouts don't get back until sometime after noon, it might be slightly warmer. The wind is supposed to die down around that time.

There's an old saying about never meeting your heroes. In modern parlance, it could also be "never read their social media posts". Although, in this case "hero" would be a stretch. More like someone who's creativity and skill I admire. And even people like that can post incredibly moronic and childish things.

It's supposed to be even colder over the next few days, so I'll have to remember to leave some taps dripping and the cabinet doors under the sinks open. To (hopefully) prevent stuff pipes from freezing up.
We had that happen once before. It stopped our water for about a day, but at least we had no pipes burst.

And now it's time for a bit of mapping. Later it will be time for more laundry. Other household chores as well.
We did pretty well yesterday. I cleaned a bathroom, the stove, and several of the kitchen counters (my daughter helped on those). Today, I hope to finish cleaning the remaining counters, and maybe one or two other things/areas in the house.

For some reason, I was suddenly reminded of a show my kids used to watch. It was a spin off from the Lion King called The Lion Guard (or something like that). In the show, the Zebras were skittish idiots, and would react to any danger (real or more likely perceived) with "panic and run".
Probably something to do with the weather.
Probably.

'Tis almost lunchtime. So now the debate. I have multiple possibilities for lunch, and must decide between them.
I could eat some leftover smoked turkey from Spring Creek BBQ. This could be as simple as gnawing on a few slices, or cutting some up and mixing it with brown rice.
I could eat some leftover kung pao chicken from last night. I ate all the rice that came with it, however, so would have to make more.
I could go the healthy route and have an apple. It doesn't seem like much, but they're really big apples.

Well, it's really fargin cold outside. But the kids are off from school, so I got to leave early. Which meant way less traffic. And I don't think we have much going on in the office this week. No urgent deadlines anyway. So work should be reasonably busy, but not insane.

Shortly after I left, the dog apparently got a hold of a ketchup packet left on the table. I think it was from Canes. Anyway, the wife says she dropped it in her food bowl while eating her breakfast. I told her she just wanted to flavor her food like she's seen our daughter do.
I don't think my wife was amused by that.

Yeah, though. Had a really good drive in to work. Caught a few lights, but since the traffic was nearly non-existent, that didn't slow me down too much.
There was some jackass on the feeder road going slow. So I passed him up to get on the interstate. Apparently, he took offense to that and accelerated to ride my ass. That didn't last long. Once I merged on to the interstate, I left him in the dust.

Just heard one of my coworkers had to go to the hospital over the weekend. Surgery to remove his gall bladder. Luckily, he’s recovering nicely.
As I recall, they usually recommend removal when it gets down into the 30% range of functionality. At least, that’s what I remember my own (first) GI doctor telling me.
Otherwise, you can live without those things. My own mother hasn’t had a gall bladder for years.
