Swinging Reposition and Bull Rush combination

From PRD:

"Swinging Reposition (Ex): At 2nd level, a pirate incorporates a ship's masts, rigging, ropes, sails, and other such structures into her combat style. Provided she is wearing light armor or no armor, when fighting in an environment where such structures exist, the rogue incorporates them into her movement, and does not have to move in a straight line when making either a charge attack or a bull rush combat maneuver. Once she completes her attack or maneuver, she can reposition herself. Immediately after making the charge or bull rush, she can move 5 feet as a free action, even if the charge ends her turn. This movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity. This ability replaces the 2nd-level rogue talent."

Q: Does a bull rush attempt made as part of a Swinging Reposition trigger an AoO?

Yes because it does not contain language indicating otherwise.

Sovereign Court

thought so... but that nagging little "or a similar ability" part of the bull rush maneuver description always stumps me a little:

From PRD:
"If you do not have the Improved Bull Rush feat, or a similar ability, initiating a bull rush provokes an attack of opportunity from the target of your maneuver."

looks like I will shell the 5K to get this:

GRAPPLER'S MASK
Price 5,000 gp; Aura faint transmutation; CL1st; Weight2 lbs.
This mask is fashioned from dark leather decorated with geometrical patterns that emphasize the wearer's fearsomeness. It covers the wearer's face, but leaves his mouth and eyes uncovered. The wearer may attempt to bull rush and grapple without provoking attacks of opportunity.

CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS
Cost 2,500 gp
Craft Wondrous Item, bull's strength, cat's grace, expeditious retreat

Thread resurrect: i just keep thinking that the intent of this ability would be to rope swing kick enemy pirates overboard. Makes little sense that it would trigger an AoO...

Also, based on this ability's language can it just be used to move around the ship up to twice your speed? (I.e. use it for single or double moves)

Emphasis above mine. I am basically wondering if this allows for the free movement of a pirate anywhere within a ship, and not *just* while making charge attacks and bull rushes. I certainly read it that way, but the constant confusion this ability brings at the table (both for other players and the DM) has me rethink this character and perhaps remove the rogue dip I took, as the Swinging Reposition ability was the only reason for the dip. If this essentially grants the ability "fly" around the ship (i.e. move anywhere through the ropes and sail, up or down, sideways, etc.) whether you make moves, double moves, charge attacks, or charge bull rush, then I'm keeping the character as is, otherwise I might just forget about this...

Sovereign Court

Due to the lack of clarity with this ability my DM agreed for a character rebuild. Once again, what was meant to probably make a rogue cool and useful is defeated via ambiguous wording. Back to the drawing board to make my character bland and damage-optimized... :(
