PaizoCon General Discussion

Dark Archive

A huge thank you goes out to everyone at the con. I met a ton of great people from paizo staff to fellow fans. Thanks go to will for helping with a damaged product in the store, Chris for running Freeport (had a great time), everyone who signed our poster and book. The kind gentleman who gave us a token so we could take home a neat momento even though we never managed to find the extra time for a PDFs game. To everyone who commented, took pictures of or just smiled at goblin in dragon suit (yep that was us) you made my wife a very happy lady. To Wolfgang who humored more than a couple questions. And finally the paizo folk in General who made this happen. We will be talking about our trip for a long time to come, and who knows maybe we will figure out a way to wrangle another trip in a year or two. THANK YOU ALL!

My husband beat me to the punch. We had a BLAST and I was amazed at not just how great Paizo made it for us, but all the other con goers as well. A few personal shout outs:

Razhen and his brother for helping us get into Return to Freeport. We had an Awesome game. Hope yours was equally great.

Majuba for answering so many of my questions on the board before hand, organizing a society game for after the con but before my flight so I could play without missing any of my classes or seminars, and for Goblin Brains!

Will Chase for working so hard to get me my Pure Steam book, it is Awesome!

To everyone who admired my Dragin Goblin costume, you made my year and I've had sooo many requests that I will be looking at maybe making more. (Yes, Kyle Elliot you will get the first one.)

And to everyone who ran a panel and willingly answered our MANY questions. Thanks for your patience.

Yepyepyep! I had an absolute blast at the con. Pretty bummed about what happened today (slept in, caught con crud, missed my last event), but two great days is good enough for me. :)

First, Goblin Brewery, GMed by someone who had to fill in for an absent GM. He did a great job—a hilarious game!

Second, Demon Mountain was a blast. Funny, with a lot of adlibbing (I know, because I picked up the adventure module) and a lot of funny voices.

Then the PFO panel and meeting a bunch of people from the subforum. That was a ton of fun, and it was great meeting everyone.

And the Swords and Wizardry character-killing session. I thought we were screwed when we fought the gray render—and then, when we barely manage to kill it, we're told we have to go fight a dragon!

Funny enough, though, Fastfling the Baker never took a single point of damage. The halfling luck lives on!

Finally, though, there was the demo. I basically squatted in the PFO Demo Room for something close to 5-6 hours over the last two days. Oh! I just realized it'll still be open until 2:00. Since I missed my main game, no reason not to start walking over. This con's not over yet!

On the other hand, to the individual who gave my ConCrude, that sucked! Eleven plus hours on a plane or in an airprt when you are dizzy and nauseous is no fun. However, US Airways surpraised us by switching our Seattle-Pheonix-Charlotte with a Seattle-Charlotte and up graded us to 1st class, making the trip bearable.

Yuck! Sorry to hear the part about the con crud, but the direct flight sounds like a win for the ages. It was great storming the diamond gate with you yesterday.

I had a great time with you all. Next time I'll wear the medalion! I actually got my first dizzy spell during the game, but wasn't about to leave, however the irony is the switched flight left later so had we known we could have stayed a bit longer

Ha, the fact the lack of amulet proved actually relevant, made that whole thing much funnier!

Oh, you were in there? I was the guy who walked in and peanut-galleried for a few minutes. :)

Were you the guy sitting in the corner?

I was the guy in the goblin hat.

I was the redhead that stood by the door for the most part when the thief snuck in and got noticed by the render. I wasn't there long, just wanted to shake Bill's hand for all the Frog God goodness.

There is a picture on the blog and Paizo's facebook page, but to clarify, I wasn't wearing it, I made it for the stuffed goblin.

True enough.

Waiting at the airport to head home from Seattle, it was another very fun Paizo*Con, I love getting to see people year to year. Now that I have been going for 3 years I am beginning to recognize and connect with people - some highlights of this year included getting to be a part of Chris (thunderspirit on the boards) Assault on the Wound table, which was AMAZING. Then of course my last table where I got to sit with Chris from Nevada (also awesome people). Best of all was getting to meet Brian Darnell and Rob Knopf - the mythic game was amazing! Lots of chatting with W. Kristoff Nolan too (awesome guy!) and all of the great hanging out with the Phoenix Peeps - Congrats again Tom!

Thanks to the awesome staff and people that make this event happen every single year! It has only gotten better, for me at least.
