magic trait to defeat

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

are there any weapons that ultimately carry this trait? Doesnt seem as if the "+" weapons have this trait so the physical combat class characters are at an extreme disadvantage when encountering these monsters. Or am i missing something?

All + weapons have that trait, the +1 (etc) denotes a magical enchantment. :D I think only the War Hammer +1 is missing it (a misprint, it should have it). Maybe you just had the bad luck of pulling that as your example?

"Requires the Magic trait to defeat" quickly becomes irrelevant, in my experience. Past the first few adventures almost everyone will probably have a magical weapon, so as long as they're not caught flatfooted with no weapons in hand you'll probably be okay. Though, of course, casters have the advantage of their spells carrying the magical trait, and Kyra gets the magical trait by default versus undead, which is generally (always?) the type of monster that requires magic to defeat.

Traits are found in the upper left. All "+" weapons should have it. Perhaps you are thinking you would be instructed to add that trait by the description of the cards' powers? Sometimes this is the case for some traits, but the important thing to remember is that any card played that tells you what die to roll for your check, such as weapons and attack spells, automatically get ALL of their traits added to the check. Any other cards played to affect the check only add traits if instructed in the powers section.

you are correct i was looking at the warhammer +1 and it did not have the magic trait listed on it.

thank you BTW :)
