Make a Fort save; save DC is Cha based

Rules Questions

What the heck does that mean?
If I'm making a Fort save, it's Con-based.

If I'm the caster, the DC is based on whatever my casting stat is (among other things).

Though I'm asking this question based on the Ghoul bite attack, I see it all over the place, and I don't understand the phrase "The save DC is Cha based"

Shadow Lodge

It's for variant gouls
The DC of the save is based off of the creature's cha so if the variant boosts it's cha the DC goes up too
Say you wanted a half fiendish goul, and you boost the cha, boom harder to resist bite

It means the attackers charisma (and HD and various feats/abilities) determines the save required. The target still computes their fort save normally.

Saying it is Charisma based means the save DC of the attack or whatever is based on the creatures charisma score.

Monster attack save DCs are 10 + 1/2 hit dice + an ability score. A charisma based ability means it is the monster's Charisma modifier that is added to the save DC.
