Can Halflings be found in small, primarily Halfling settlements?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

This is actually 2 question, if you would be so kind, could you please answer both:

- All the material I have read seems to indicate that Halflings are found in major cities or with Varisian Nomadics. However, I cannot find anything that would set Halflings in their own secluded and sheltered community/settlement. Can they be found in such a setting?

- Specifically, is there such a small and secluded settlement in Varisia where they can be found? Even if it's not just Halflings in the settlement, but as long as it's primarily Halflings.

Thank you for your time :)

Because what Haflings (as opposed to Tolkienian Hobbits) tend to do is to include themselves in a community of larger folk.

OTOH, nothing is absolute and universal. They may tend to do so, but that doesn't mean there aren't some small & secluded Halfling only (or Halfling mostly) settlements.
As far as I know, there aren't any specifically described in the setting material. No reason you can't make up your own. Founded as a refuge for escaping halflinfg slaves as Cheliax lost it's hold on the area?

Freed hafling slaves just can't set up a town as usual in Cheliax. That's just a big sign reading "Welcome to Chaim Me UP Again Town". I assume that much of what the Bellflowers do is set up an underground railroad to get many of them out of the country... or recruit some as new agents. Otherwise you need to keep hidden.... and mobile.

Thus the "in Varisia" part from the OP. Got out from or through Korvosa. And then still went for secluded and isolated.

Thanks @thejeff, I ended up going with something similar.

Thank you everyone for your input and for clarifying the campaign setting for Halflings in Golarion.

Sovereign Court

For my own amusement, I started pulling together information about the demographic breakdown of different cities, mainly from the wiki and ISWG. Nowhere with a percentage breakdown comes out higher than 12%. Varisia, Andoran, and the Shackles all seem likely places for a halfling-dominant community, or the Mwangi expanse, where there are Halfling tribes.

For the record, the biggest halfling percentages I've found are:
-Augustana (Andoran): 12%
-Solku (Katapesh): 12%
-Absalom: 11%

And in absolute terms, these cities:
Absalom: 33,429
Katapesh: 12,738
Westcrown (Cheliax): 8,029

The lowlands around Kaer Maega would be a nice spot for refugee Hen.

Also the River Kingdoms are noted as being something of a frequent destination.

There are halfling villages in the plains around Kintargo in Cheliax.

And for black, tribal halfings in the Kaava Lands and the jungles just south of Sargava.

To the OP:

Yes, but you have to season them with garlic to make them digestible. Those found in mossy banks or dry holes may require some tenderizing and washing in boiling water before being plucked.
