Pyrokineticist's Fire Lash w / Soulknife abilities

Unless I'm massively misreading the Pyrokineticist's Fire Lash ability, if I have levels in Soulknife and the Altered Blade skill, I can apply the Enhanced Mind Blade abilities to the Fire Lash. Does that mean it just gets the +1/+2 etc, or can I apply properties to it too? (Like flaming, collision, etc).

So far with what I've read, I'm assuming I can. But I'm confused as to what kind of weapon the Fire Lash is. It seems like it would be a melee weapon, but you attack with a ranged touch attack.

Specifically, I was wondering if I would be able to apply the 'Distance' ability to the Fire Lash to give it 30 ft range instead of 15 ft.

Also, as a side question, am I able to make attacks of opportunity with the Fire Lash?

It's pretty much just treated as a weapon. However, you can't apply the 'Distance' ability since it's ranged weapon only, and Fire Lash is treated as a special whip.
