Anyone else picking this up? I'm getting it for PS4. I had it as a preorder as a system launch title. Been looking forward to it.

Me also, pre-ordered and paid since last Fall. Can't wait to play.

Sovereign Court

Downloading almost done.

Shadow Lodge

I bought this on greenmangaming this morning, found out it requires Uplay to download (and probably to play multiplayer? I guess offline mode won't work for that), and I keep getting "your internet connection has a problem" errors when trying to login to Uplay.

It was $22 cheaper than Steam there. There's no problem with my internet connection; it actually worked 1 out of the 10 odd times I tried to log into Uplay because it told me I had incorrect login details that one time.

Liberty's Edge

I heard ubisoft/ uplay have been having issues with the PC version all day.

I was going to pick it up for PS3, but given that I've decided that I'll be getting a PS4 in a few months time, I decided to hold off until then. Looking forward to it though.

Scarab Sages

I will have to wait until next month...incidentally my birthday is coming up right at the beginning of that months, so :-)

Shadow Lodge

The download worked later in the day, but I had issues starting it up. Crashing, hardlocking my machine, unable to sync cloud saves errors (even before I'd started a game). Going to try again later today.

Liberty's Edge

IGN is reporting that the game has issues running on PC. Even if your PC meets the recomended specs, you could have issues.

No comment from Ubisoft yet.

Sovereign Court

Works, horribly unoptimized though. Framerate drops to 1s when driving. Almost unplayable.

I have the PS4 version. It plays well, and yet I'm terribly disappointed.

The trailers, other advertising, and the bit that I read about the game gave me a completely different impression of what it would be than what the game actually is. If it had been billed as "Sleeping Dogs II" which it pretty much is, I would have waited for a used copy instead of getting it new.

I feel cheated.

1 fps isn't almost unplayable. That's straight up can't-do-anything-crashing-into-walls-nonstop unplayable.

That said, it sounds like there's a real problem going on here, not merely poor optimization. What are your computer's specs, and have you ensured that your video card drivers are up-to-date?

Liberty's Edge

The IGN article said if you don't have a nvidia card you will have issues even if Your pc meets recommend specs. Issue is on Ubisoft end looks like.

I'm running an AMD card (HD 6950) and initially had some real problems (not the least of which was a hilarious, repeatable BSOD at the exact moment of the game's first power blackout) but a driver update basically fixed everything. I still get some choppy behavior if I switch out of the game (ALT-TAB) and then switch back in, but as long as I'm just playing the game it runs pretty smoothly.

Sovereign Court

i5 2700 each core
8GB RAM at 1800MHZ
Geforce GT 570 with 1GB VRAM

Works ok Indoors. Drops to about 8-9 FPS when driving outside.

If they'd billed it as Sleeping Dogs 2 it probably would have been a day 1 purchase for me.

Shadow Lodge

I'm using an AMD card (HD 6850) and updated the driver to make sure I was up to scratch to avoid any more crashes. I don't know if that did the trick, but after loading Watch Dogs immediately afterwards, I had no other problems (apart from the dumb syncing error message on loading up before I'd played it).

I kept the default graphics settings to be safe; I'll turn them up later. Runs smoothly.

The game plays like GTA, plus hacking, plus a (pretty nifty) skill tree. The driving feels good, unlike GTA 4's unplayable IMHO driving (I was in a state of constant swerving in GTA 4). It's weird to play because you get small penalties for injuring or killing civilians, which is easy to do because, hey, it's like GTA. I didn't even realise I was getting those penalties for a while, and when I did, I was like: ohhh I'm the GOOD guy!

Evading cops is incredibly difficult, even with the "hack open garage doors" upgrade, since I can never find garages and I'm usually speeding away from them.

Fair enough. I guess its just the bait and switch element that upsets me.

I own Sleeping Dogs and like the game, but I was Really expecting something else with Watchdogs, especially since they delayed release to make a better game.

8-9 is still pretty low. Your bottleneck is going to be your graphics card, but I'd think you'd still be getting FPS somewhere in the 20's on low/medium settings.

Sovereign Court

I guess. My settings are on high. I should lower them.

Sovereign Court

Works beautifully on medium settings.
