After knocking an enemy off a platform 10' up in the air, the fighter in my campaign on his next round decided to jump off and land on the enemy. Basically doing a cannonball dive at the other guy.
The rules say a medium object dropped on someone from a height will do 3d6 damage. Is this correct when using this as an attack?
I also ruled that he would have to make a ranged touch attack to hit, and that he would take 10' falling damage hit or miss. Is this reasonable?
I know this guy is going to try this kind of thing again eventually and I want to be a bit better prepared next time.

I'm going to be having one of the NPCs in my game do this to save a different NPC...mostly as a flavor kind of thing and that they view this NPC as being pretty boss.
I was thinking either a combat maneuver roll to set a reflex save DC for the target, as a 'divebomb' does seem like it'd be a combat maneuver.
