Maiden Lily Attar poison in Murder's Mark

Rules Questions

Liberty's Edge

I'm having trouble figuring out how to square what's written in the poison entry with the affliction rules.

Here's what it says:

Quote:

Type poison, inhaled; Save Fortitude DC 13
Frequency 1/round for 4 rounds
Initial Effect unconsciousness for 1 minute; Secondary Effect unconsciousness for 1d4 hours; Cure 1 save

According to the affliction rules, the Initial Effect is what you suffer if you miss the first save. The subsequent effects are what you suffer if you fail subsequent saves. Cure is what cures you from further effects from the affliction.

That doesn't make sense here, though. Somebody inhales the poison. First round, they fail their save, they now are unconscious for 1 minute. So far, so good.

What happens in the second round? If they fail, to me that says that, oh, oops, the poison is going to last for 1d4 hours, not just 1 minute. But if they make it... well, they don't suffer the secondary effects. But this also meets the Cure criterion. So, are they not unconscious for a full minute, but now awake?

It would all make sense if Frequency were 1/minute for 2 minutes, instead of what's written. (That's what Drow poison, a similar poison in the CRB, has.) As is, though, I can't figure out what I'm supposed to do with this poison.

If you save, you are still unconscious but you don't have to make any more saves, as far as I can tell. Cure doesn't mean "reverse all effects taken", it just means "stop taking damage". As for the frequency/effect disparity... perhaps the unconsciousness is meant to stack?
