Salutation, after read some guides, I start my Bard to a homebrew game. We used d20pfsrd material (less 3pp ones). My Group was a Fighter (2h without archetype) and a Summoner, but will change for next adventure, still I will maintain the char. It was a Skilled Bard focused in support (I know, small party).
Bard 2 Gnome (Academician + Magical Linguist)
Str 10
Dex 14
Con 16
Int 16
Wis 10
Cha 20
Feat: Noble Scion of the Arts(+1 All Performs and +3 Performs/day)
Spells:
0
Dancing Lights
Detect Magic
Prestidigi
Spark
Mage Hand
1
Cure Light Wounds
Vanish
Sleep
Skills:
Perform (Oratory and Act - I'm a Dungeon Master \o/ ) +11
--> Versatile - Diplomacy and Sense Motivation +11
Knowledge (almost all) +8
Stealth +11
Perception +7
UMD +10
Appraise +8
In 3rd level I would get Flagbearer talent for a juicy extra +1 bonus to my mates.
Now I need advices. What do you think about my choices, and where should I go?

A couple thoughts:
1) Since you're Knowledge Guy, the feat Breadth of Experience would give you a really, really nice bump.
2) Spell-wise, consider Grease and Gallant Inspiration. Pilfering Hand is also an incredibly versatile spell, especially if you're willing to drop a few skill points into Sleight of Hand.
3) Also, your Charisma is high enough that you could be a real terror with debuffs. Blindness/Deafness and Sculpt Sound can seriously ruin an enemy's day.
4) The spell is pure flavor, but I love Secure Shelter.

IF you're going to stick with this same character, then I think the advice posted by penny wit is all gold. If you're trying to make the best support Bard you can, then I'd like to recommend the Evangelist Cleric instead. We had one in a sputtering Tsar Saga game who took the Heroism Domain. At 8th level in the opening round she'd drop Aura of Heroism as a swift action, Inspire Courage as a move action and then cast something like Communal Protection vs. Evil as a standard action... and she's still a full caster with some great 'face' type spells to boot.

One thing to add: I recommend Sculpt Sound because it's appropriate from both an RP and an effectiveness perspective. Since gnomes tend to be tricksters and pranksters, it makes sense that you might surreptitiously give Lord Pompous a high, squeaky voice. It's also useful for tearing an opposing spellcaster's verbal components into ... say, a chicken squawking.

Grease is one spell on my to-get-list, so usefull. I will change Sleep by it, after Sleep will fall in uselessness (level 4 tho). ;)
I will definatly put those others spells on my list once I can. Sadly, I need to talk to GM about the talent (excelent one), because Mance only are 61 y.o., someone have a Goku Time Capsule for me to train? :D

I will stick if Bard for now, so freaking fun out-combat to play... But I will save this Cleric power-build to future games ;)
