So, a friend in one of my groups recently died... (Well, actually, baleful polymorphed and then lost to the ocean, making retrieval nearly impossible). He's wanting to create a Barbarian focused on grappling and poison.
He's been eyeing Hive Totem Toxicity and the sorcerer's Serpentine 1st level power (Serpent's Fang). He wants to know several things.
First: When raging, would the barbarian have one or two bite attacks? Or should they be molded into the same natural attack? He knows that if it is to be counted as two separate attacks he would only get to use one per attack.
Second: Can he deliver both the poison from Hive Totem Toxicity AND the poison form Serpent's fang with one attack?
Third: Does a temporary bonus to constitution (such as from rage) increase the DC of the poisons?
Overall, his general plan is thus: With the high amounts of possible bite attacks during a round of grappling, he'll be able to deliver TONS of poison. Animal Fury allows the barbarian to bite with each action used to maintain a grapple (3/round with Greater Grapple and Rapid Grappler), along with the up to three attacks made normally while grappling.
So, at level 9, he'll have 6 bite attacks in a single round (if he started the round grappling), all of which carrying a nasty 1d2 con poison (DC anywhere between 18-21, cure 2 saves), and one with a second poison dealing 1d3 con poison, with 1 higher DC (1 save). That is a potential 1d3+6d2 (Average 11 con damage), plus normal bite damage.
