Help Daredevil Spend His GP

Advice

I have 33k gp to spend on gear. The build is in the profile feel free to critique (gently).

I am looking for gear needed for a monk/rogue. I don't need weapons but monk items that effect monk weaps or unarmed strike.

In terms of build...Rogue/Monk is a pretty bad idea just generally. What precisely are you getting from Rogue that you wouldn't get from an ACG Slayer, or even a Ranger (maybe an Urban one, but that seems unnecessary)?

Daredevil doesn't really require Sneak Attack, after all, Favored Enemy (Human) would likely serve him at least as well, and Favored Target plus some Sneak attack likely better. Both get a few less skill points, but gain Full BAB, which really helps with his mobility, since he doesn't lose BAB on single attacks.

The Rogue Talents are nice, I suppose, but Slippers of Spider Climbing do a better job for most of the rooftop stuff, and are well within your price range.

An alternate possibility would be scrapping Monk entirely for Ninja/Something with the Ninja used to grab Unarmed Strike Mastery at 10th and Improved Unarmed Strike. Combine with Paladin for a LG character, but a much more effective one than listed (and Daredevil can easily be argued as LG, IMO). That version would wear light armor, but you can incorporate that into the costume easily enough.

In terms of gear, you need the basic AC, Save, and stat stuff (Ring of Protection +1, Amulet of Natural Armor +1, Jingasa of the Fortunate Soldier, Belt of Dex +2, Headband of Con +2, Cloak of Resistance +1) which'll net you a solid +5 AC (among various other benefits) for 18k, total. The rest can be used on a weapon, the slippers mentioned above if needed, and either other stuff, or some consumables.

Clouded Vision Oracle/Paladin just seems more fitting.

Well my thinking on Rogue was skills skills skills. He is a lawyer and an investigator so I wanted my build to work not just on the battlefield. Second I went monk rogue because of the martial arts nature of Daredevil. My fist thought was ninja but ninjas loose evastion which seemed wierd to me. I was going with just 1 level of monk and then brawler but I only gained 1 BAB that way so I went monk to up my unarmed damage, movement and relevant skills.

If the GM had not allowed additional 10 Race build points to grant "super powers" I think Oracle would have helped, though I did not want him as a caster with the Race Points I was able to get blind sense and 360 vision to approximate the vision loss and simulate the heightened sense awareness.

Thanks I really liked the Jingasa that will help.

I am not sure if this changes the critique for either of you but the character is gestalt.

Dark Archive

If you're trying to replicate Daredevil then Boots of the Cat might be a useful, relatively cheap, item if your boot slot is open. Minimum fall damage is always a nice thing to have as a backup, and it doesn't take a ring slot like Feather Fall would.

The gestalt will really help with saves, but I'd second Deadmanwalking's comments about the ACG Slayer instead of a rogue. You pick up Evasion from your monk levels anyway, and the Full BAB from the Slayer offsets penalties from Flurrying.

Slayer is tempting but I really like the flavor of the roofrunner archetype.

Roofrunner is solid thematically, but so's Slayer (which, once again, grants almost as much in the way of skills), and Slayer's just much better mechanically.

Don't let class names restrict you.

Alright after receiving your wise council I have made some changes and purchased some gear both which can be enjoyed in the profile. Thanks for your help so far.
