Interesting question: if you had a dozen arms, could you reload 11 crossbows using one hand?
God, things like this make eidolons so confusing. The rules have little precedence for things outside of the basic humanoid shape.

Well I tend to errors on the side of caution and reason when it comes to these things. I would say one weapon per two hands. I am new to pathfinder and by no means experienced in optimizing....m the guy who choose story over rules almost too much...however evening see th e problem on making.your eidolon dependant on dex.and str instead of just the one. Then of course there is the ammo and the fact that most buff spells and evolutions ate primed for.melee.
But the idea was too cool.not to at least suggest.
