So...I kind of have a hard time with summoners being Cha-based pseudo-sorcerers, flavor-wise. Their fluff is all about them being ardent students of conjuration and constantly learning more about their mysterious eidolon and all that, and while a Cha-based one is fine, it'd be nice with some options.
So...if I wanted to make a summoner archetype that has a spellbook and casts off Int, but otherwise didn't wanna change a hell of a lot, what would be some reasonable adjustments to other class features? I mean, I generally think prepared casting seems to have the upper hand, and Int is rather more useful than Cha for a class that gets all the Knowledge skills, so arguably some minor nerfs here and there are in order?
Any takers?

Interesting.
In general, spell access trumps many skills per level Losing spontaneous casting might be a fair trade off for the extra skills of shifting from Cha to Int. especially if you have to pay spell book scribing cost. Though usually, I think prepared casters get at least one free scribing cost per level. On the other hand, it sounds like you are ok with not changing the spell list or number of spells you can learn per level. If you were to give them an expanded list or even just the chance to learn more than the number of spells the spontaneous caster does, than you give the int version much more strength than just extra skill points. As spells are generally better, now you are giving the int summoner both more skill points and more spell access to trump the Cha caster much more than just swapping skills for spontaneous but same list and number known per lever.

Well, no, I mean, you'd obviously have to drop them to 2 + Int mod skill points per level.
On the spell front, ideally I'd like to give them two new spells known per level like a magus, and the ability to add spells to their spell book like any caster. Hence my earlier notion that such a boost in versatility should probably come at the price of a few nerfs to some class features.
