Anyone Pick the Camel?

Advice

Hi Everyone,

Most of the classes with some form of the Mount ability let you select either a horse or a camel if your character is medium sized.

So, my question is - who selects the camel as their mount? And, why?

Lantern Lodge

I selected a camel once, in a group with a lot of casters. The sickened condition on a touch attack was helpful against foes with good saves. The rider was an archer.

Though, it stopped being so good after awhile.

The monk I am currently playing has a fiendish camel that he rides. The cavalier in the party has also bonded with a fiendish camel.

Why? Mainly because we encountered them in the desert and decided they made for a better mode of transportation than our feet. :p

At what level did it stop being good?

Scarab Sages

My dwarf hit a camel with his pick once, if that counts...

Lantern Lodge

I can't remember, it's been a couple years, but it was because it was having a hard time hitting things, and my archer wasn't interested in being in close range anymore, we were playing in a mostly open field campaign.
