Hey all. I was mulling over Summoner builds and thought it might be mildly hilarious to have an Eidolon Bus, with the summoner as conductor and ticket collector. (Think Catbus from My Neighbor Totoro.) Ideally, multiple party members could hop on and ride the bus!
The obvious evolutions for something like this are Large, Mount, and likely a couple pairs of Limbs (legs); I'd also want to tack on Trample to attack with, and later on Fly would give the whole party a mode of flying transportation.
However, I have no idea how multiple people riding one creature would behave. I'm looking for suggestions on:
- a) rules determining how many people could ride at once for a given size/carrying capacity
- b) how people moving at different initiatives works
- c) how threatened area works from the back of a large/huge/gargantuan creature, for a lone or multiple riders

According to me, if I refer to real life mounts, a Large creature (horse) can carry no more than two average size people. So, a large creature could carry two medium, or four smalls. A Huge eidolon could carry up to two large, four medium or eight small characters (seams like the good size for catbus).
For initiative, It would need that all non-driver delay their initiative if they need to take melee attack. For the rest, I would not allow them to take move action when they are mounted, even if they are not the «drivers» of the eidolon.
For the purpose of the treatened area, I don't think that a Large mount changes anything (you just treat your reach all around the mount). For oversized mount (like a medium riding a huge), I think the rider should need a polearm to reach medium creatures, since he is in fact more than 5 feet above the ground. But it depends of your mount shape. A huge snake like mount isn't very tall...but I can't imagine a medium character using a longsword from the back of an elephant.
