So looking through the force spells I noticed that most of them do not have their damage lowered on a successful save but instead the extra effects negated, and because of this are these the more viable Gish spells?
Force Punch, for instance, only bull rushes a target if the target fails the save, thereby meaning that it succeeding the save is bad for it in terms of raw DPS if the user of the spell is expending them via Spell Storing Weapons.
So another reason why Force is awesome is because I have yet to encounter anything that has resistances or immunity to force damage, thereby this is more reliable damage in the face of the resistances of unknown future enemies.
The average damage of Magic Missile and Shocking Grasp both deal the exact same damage at level 9, but one cannot miss, can be cast from range. The only drawback is that Magic Missile cannot have intensified spell used on it.
Another completely awesome spell is emergency Force Barrier since it is an immediate interrupt. If someone charges you or directs a very dangerous spell at you then you can create this barrier before the attack lands, thereby negating most of it.
What do you guys think?
Is the Force caster better than the Elemental caster? Elemental stuff is more abundant, but force is more specialized for single target damage.

As a general rule, I don't play magic users, but I've had my eye on this build for a while, and will eventually give it a try.
You may be interested in it, if the force mage concept appeals to you.

If you get some of the force spells from 3.5 then force can be an awesome focus but with Pathfinder only you're going to find that you have a steady trickle.of damage but none of the big punches other mages can bring to the table. The lack of true AOE damage hurts a lot and in general force effects are weaker than their counterpart spells specifically because nothing is resistant to them. It is good if you're doing a campaign or AP with a lot of incorporeal enemies though.

You'll never have very good damage, but crowd control can be pretty good with force spells. Just pick up the Toppling Spell metamagic feat, and you'll be able to knock five targets prone with Magic Missile at 9th level or have your Mage's Sword and the various hand spells knocking things prone every round.
