Provoking AOO while fighting with sword + hand crossbow

If someone were to make an attack with a sword in their primary, hand crossbow in their secondary, they have Two Weapon Fighting, and attacked with both weapons, would they still provoke an AOO from the crossbow?

If yes, for possible future situations, why would this be?

You still provoke. This is because there is nothing that says attacking with a melee weapon stops ranged weapons from provoking.

Additionally there is a feat the explicitly does so, called Sword and Pistol that does exactly what you want it to.
