Advice

im running my first ap which is second darkness and it says that a npc has a int of 14 but at the top under his name it says int +5 does this mean that I add +5 to his int and also it says he wields a rapier +1 does that make it a +1 weapon and if he has a +2 to armor do I add that to his ac or would it already be included in his stats

int+5 is Initiative not INT...
A +1 Rapier is a weapon
a rapier +1 is an attack...

ok now I feel only I lil dumb for not figuring out the initiative thing but can u tell me wat rapier +1 means

Sample statblock: Princess

Quote:

Human aristocrat 8
N Medium humanoid
Init +3; Senses Perception +8

Init = Initiative

Quote:

Statistics
Str 9, Dex 16, Con 10, Int 12, Wis 8, Cha 12

Str = Strength

Dex = Dexterity
Con = Constitution
Int = Intelligence
Wis = Wisdom
Cha = Charisma

Quote:

Defense
AC 20, touch 14, flat-footed 16 (+5 armor, +3 Dex, +1 dodge, +1 shield)

Everything has been added already

Armor and shield bonuses are not added to touch
Dex and dodge are not added to flat-footed

10 +5 armor +3 Dex +1 dodge +1 shield = 20 AC
10 +3 Dex +1 dodge = 14 touch
10 +5 armor +1 shield = 16 flat-footed

Melee mwk rapier +10/+5 (1d6–1/18–20) or
mwk rapier +8/+3 (1d6–1/18–20), mwk dagger +8 (1d4–1/19–20)

*Everything has been added already

*This character has a base attack bonus higher then 5, so has an iterative attack
*This character may fight with two-weapon fighting using the two-weapon fighting feat and the correct weapons, and so has a second attack routine shown when doing that
*This character uses the weapon finesse feat so their attribute bonus to the to-hit roll is calculated from Dexterity instead of Strength.

Using regular and iterative attacks only
6 Base Atk + 3 Dex + 1 enhancement (from masterwork weapon) = +10
plus
an iterative attack at the first attack -5: +5
-> +10/+5

When using the two-weapon fighting option:
6 Base Atk + 3 Dex + 1 enhancemnt (from masterwork weapon) -2 two-weapon fighting = +8
plus
an iterative attack at the first attack -5: +3
plus
an off hand attack from two-weapon fighting (using the dagger), at the same bonus as the primary: +8
-> +8/3 and +8

A +1 rapier is very much like a masterwork rapier, except it adds to the damage as well as the to-hit.

Ok I get it now ty
