I've been thinking quite a bit about how to justify a character multi-classing, and wondering about how one would suddenly acquire all the needed skills/talents etc of a new class. Came up with the idea of a vision quest sort of initiation/rite of passage. For example one of my PCs is a Halfling druid with a pretty good charisma, and every time the party is in a tavern, he ends up regaling everyone about the party's exploits, and has had great rolls every time. So he wants to multiclass as a bard. What's weird is...how would he suddenly get all that knowledge? My idea was a vision quest...he gets lost in the sanos forest and is guided by his diety to visit the Great Tree of Wisdom or something like that. But I need some suggestions for encounters along the way building up to it. Both general and specific comments are welcome! Also have another half-orc barbarian thinking of multi-ing as a cleric or Gorum.
