Hey guys I'm just getting into tabletop rpgs with a friend or two of mine and someone pointed me in the direction of pathfinder as a good starting place for newbies. I'm in love with the idea of the duskblade class but I've been struggling to find a way to write up a character sheet for them that works in pathfinder and knowing how many feats/skill points they are supposed to get etc etc, can anyone help me set up a character? The GM says we're supposed to start out at level 8 for the campaign, so if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. I have done some research and know some basic things I get with the class' level progression but I'm just not sure how many feats I'd get in addition to stuff I get automatically as I level up as a duskblade and where to put my skill points specifically.

In Pathfinder, all characters get feats at 1st level, and every two levels afterwards (ie: 3rd, 5th, 7th, and so on).
The duskblade gets "2+INT" skill points per level, just like a fighter. Some of the duskblade's class skills no longer exist in Pathfinder; this applies to Concentration [no longer a skill], Decipher Script [part of Linguistics], and Jump [part of Acrobatics]. As such, the duskblade's list of class skills should be changed to include Acrobatics and Linguistics in place of the two latter skills, while the Fly skill [which didn't exist in 3.5] should also be added (as the duskblade gains access to magical flight via its spells).
Be aware that the duskblade's spell list is on page 24 of PHB2 (many people initially thought the list of new duskblade spells on pages 98-99 was the full spell list).
All of that said, though, I'd suggest beginning at level 1-3 if everybody involved are new to RPGs, rather than level 8. I would also suggest starting with options in the Pathfinder Core Rulebook as opposed to using 3.5 options.

I'm aware it's not a pathfinder class but I was under the impression it was converted by this point
It can't be converted wholesale, as it's not open content. Only the rules from 3.5's original three core rulebooks, plus a few additional rulebooks, are available for other companies (like Paizo) to create their own versions of. If they want to create a class filling a similar niche, they must make a new class (like Paizo did with the Magus class).
You could probably find a fan-conversion somewhere, though.

I mean I like the idea of the magus class as well, but the biggest draw for me was the spontaneous casting through channeling the spells through the blade, and the fact that the class seemed pretty well equipped to do it with touch and ranged touch spells they get to learn
EDIT: Especially because as far as I've seen two handed weaponry was favored for use with the class

No I meant spontaneous in the sense that you don't have to prepare the spells
Talk with your dm about making a spontaneous archetype for the class. Take bard/summoner progression and you're set, super simple.
That said, Magus being prepared is in every way better with how spell recall works, but you know, whatever floats your boat.

In PF, there are not so many good range attack spells as was in 3.5, so the duskblade will not equally shine.
The Cabalist magus is a 3rd party magus archetype that casts spontaneously, but the aracana pool will let you take back spells that you prerared and cast, so being a prepared caster as a Magus is not very limiting.
That being said, Duskblade is pretty easy to convert, as long as you use the magus spell list for his pell list. Otehrwise, converting every 3.5 spell to PF may be a hassle.
