I forgot about quick change, and when it got mentioned I automatically had a negative conotation thinking that was the movie Dan Akroyd did that stunk and had begged Bill to be in, but no, that was Nothing but Trouble and it was Chevy Chase who said Akroyd begged him to do it. I guess I i mix them up because they both came out at the same time 1990-91 and both had ex snler's and both did not do well at the box office, but Quick Change is a far superior movie than Nothing But Trouble.
In fact, while Dan Akroyd has done some hilarious movies, I don't think he is in Bill's league, although Trading Places is a classic, and I enjoyed the couch trip as an equivalent to what about bob and Dr. detroit, well it has Donna Dixon in it.

Trading Places is definitely a classic, as was The Blues Brothers. Aykroyd was always great as the sleazy salesman back on SNL ("bag of glass!"), and IMHO, Murray never came close back then.
I also loved him in Grosse Pointe Blank:

Lost in Translation is probably my favorite.
I'd say Ghostbusters probably ranks second.
I have to say I really admire him for not only stretching beyond his comedy roots but also really being in control of his career. He seems to be enjoying his life, not mired in some rat race of feeling obligated to work or do jobs he doesn't want to do.
