Characters making maps

What skill/s are needed for characters to make professional level maps?

I believe it'd be Profession: Cartographer. But you could also just have craft: mapmaking.

Ya thats what I was thinking as well.

Profession: Cartographer is the one most obvious, but any kind of craft connected to drawing or painting will do just fine as well..though then the map may be more flashy than accurate.
