Base class, for a laugh.

Lumberjack

This is the best thing I've seen all day. I even knew exactly what it was going to be as soon as I saw the thread title.

Shouldn't it have access to Perform: Sing/Dance? And one of the Favoured Terrains should be Urban(Bars), though only when wearing clothing belonging to the opposite gender?

Perform was supposed to be on the skill list from the beginning, along with Acrobatics and Disguise. Missed it somewhere along the way. I will update now.

I like it. It is very playable too.

I especially like rugged.

Is it playable?! Thats surprising!

There some different versions of the lyrics that could change the names of some things, so I went with the version I am most familiar with.

I would say so. The general line of thought is that axes are a bit weaker than other weapons that crit on 18 so I don't mind the better-than-fighter attack/damage "favored weapon" progression for only axes (especially considering that the jack has no access to greater weapon focus and specialization). The favored enemy thing would be broken if it weren't so weirdly situational.

The only thing that might be unbalanced is the half level to acrobatics. That can get pretty good with some tumbling and what-have-you.

Some of the stuff was paced at the rate it is specifically so I could fit everything in and not have more than one class feature per level after the first few. I changed the Actobatics bonus this morning. Now its only good for "leaping from tree to tree!"

It still has typos and other stuff I missed. Between this and the Hexblade I busted out and posted yesterday, I was mostly copy-and-pasting.

Delightful.

The Favoured Terrain bonus should probably also apply to Acrobatics and Climb, to emphasise leaping from tree to tree. It wouldn't hurt to add Knowledge-Nature either. It's not far from being playably balanced.

Consider it done.

You win the internet. Well done.

Do I get a copy in hardback?

I think the noble Lumberjack is done. I still cannot remember what possessed me to do this.

The ghost of Graham Chapman?

Oh dear. You don't want me drafting a Knight of Camelot do you?

Hilarious!

I apologize for the semi-thread necro, but I have fiddled with it periodically this year and think it is done. Or at any rate, its probably never going to get any better than it is now.
