Playtesting

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

So this is a question that I think is mostly directed at Mike and Vic, but can be answered by anyone. How exactly would a person sign up to get on the playtesting list? I am just curious, because I am absolutely loving this game, and would like to help make it better. I know there are other ways to do that, but playtesting the game is a great way to help work out the kinks.

Thanks!

Thank you for the response. I will keep that in mind.

Vic, not complaining, but it might help to point out the requirement for getting the play test cards. That prevented me from participating in the playtest for S&S as I could not get them in the Netherlands.

Magabeus, sorry to hear that. Maybe that will change at some point. I live in the US, so I think that I will be okay for this restriction.

I sure think that you should be fine considering your location

There was a certain company (I really can not remember which) where you could pick up the playtest cards. If I understood correctly the cards where send there digitally and the local company then printed them.

I understand that Paizo does not want to send out PDF's for people to print themselves, thereby they lower the costs for participating and hopefully also prevent the playtest cards to get out. Unfortunately for me that prevented me from participating.

The bright side: When I buy S&S everything will be new for me!

I guess that is something to think about. The whole getting something new and having it be completely new for you. That is pretty nice. I guess I was curious because I just can't get enough right now.

Keeping everything a surprise is also awesome. I know that my wife and I do not look at the new cards when starting a new adventure, and try not to look at the villains, either.

The plan right now is for S&S to come out every month beginning in August, instead of every other month as it is for RotRL. Just wait a little longer.

Oh, I know. I am excited about the monthly releases, but I also wouldn't mind being able to help in the development and testing of the game.

Don't get me wrong, either, I am not begging to playtest the game because I just like to play it a lot. I enjoy the game enough, that I would like to be able to playtest with my wife, so that we can help give the game longevity. I play with 3 different groups right now, and am getting a base set as a gift for a friend's birthday. I enjoy the game, and am trying to spread it. I just want to help to make sure the right thing is being spread.

Very commendable of you. Make a big enough nuisance of yourself (post many insightful ideas) and you may be chosen.

As for the printing, it is FedEx Office in the US. It needs to be within a half hour of your normal every day drive time. Paizo doesn't want you to have to drive too far out of your way.

I'd be interested in this too.

Got to find those Restoration-like combos before the players in my group find them and try to do them (I won't tell them no if it's not actually in the rules. I hate house rules).

I am not meaning to make a nuisance of myself at all. I think that pretty much goes against what this is about. Sure, I need to actually be involved in the forums and the community, but I don't need to make posts for the sake of being noticed. I think the relevance of any posts should be taken into much more consideration.

As far as printing goes, I am in the Chicago area, so i don't think that would be much of a problem at all. Thank you for the tid-bit.

This post sounds so good natured that my previous post's humor may be taken wrong due to contrast. XD

I doubt anyone thinks you're making a nuisace of yourself.

I was using tongue in cheek humor when I was talking about being a nuisance. If your posts have merit, Paizo will take notice.

See, I don't know the tone that everybody is taking on the forums, yet. I will work on that. I am still getting to know everyone's personality, and I don't think that I have read many, if any posts from Charles Scholz. So sorry for the misread.

As far as Orbis goes, though, I have read enough posts to figure out most of the tone. Hehe.

You are welcome. Hehe.

Using {url=}{/url}, replacing {} with[], linking works fine. Also, it keeps inappropiate content from appearing on Paizo's website.

Thanks, I'll bear that in mind.

We don't have a specific distance restriction—if you *want* to drive two hours to the nearest FedEx Office, I'm not going to stop you. But yes, you do have to pick up the playtest cards at a Fed Ex Office location that has printing services.
