Hello everyone, I am fairly new to the game, but am loving it so far.
On topic, though, I have a few questions about the subscription. I am sure the answers to my questions can be found in the subscription product topic, but I figured this was faster. Here we go:
1) When does the product ship to you in the subscription? Is it sent to arrive on the day that it would be available in stores, or is it a couple days after? It's not a big deal, just wondering.
2) I noticed that you get the Promo cards. How often are there Promos? Is it possible to get the older Promos without buying them individually for quite a price increase?
3) What is the shipping cost approximately if I am in the Midwest US? I am wondering if the 20% off makes up for the shipping cost, basically.
Thanks!

1. Paizo makes no guarantee as to when you will get it, but they strive to get it to you around the "street" date for stores.
2. Promo cards are sent with each subscription fufillment. So every time you get an order due to the subscription, you will get a promo card. That is every other month for Rise of the Runelords, but will be every month starting with Skull and Shackles. Occasionally there are 2 promo cards per order because they all give subscribers the cards they use for conventions or in trade magazines in addition to the subscription promo card. The only guaranteed way to get the promo cards is be a subscriber. Paizo does not sell promo cards. They do give some to local gaming stores, and those stores can do what they want with them. If you are trying to get a promo card from a previous point in the subscription, the only way to do so will be to buy it second hand or check you local game store.
3. You can add the subscription to your cart and before actually completing check out see the shipping cost. If you can find someone else that also wants to subscribe, you can basically split the shipping costs. I'm going to be doing that with a friend starting with Skull and Shackles. There is no way to "double" your subscription yourself, but if you call customer service they can do it for you and give you a quote on shipping. For us, the shipping stayed the same even with two adventure decks in the order.

Welcome!
1) I don't subscribe, so I can't give a qualified answer to this one.
2) The promo cards are predetermined and listed in the FAQ. You will only get the promo cards for the packs you get in your subscription. Since you can't get the older packs from the subscription, there is no way to get the promo cards from Paizo. Your alternatives are the overpriced listings on ebay and such.
3) I found that the subscription discount + shipping cost wound up being slightly more than buying it locally or on Amazon. (By like $1 or so.)
In the end, I just decided to buy the packs as we needed them on my own and forgo the promo cards. But that's just my preference, and there are plenty of happy subscribers here on the forums.

Thanks for the quick responses on this.
I was expecting it to be around the street date. It doesn't really make a big difference to me, because I will play it as soon as it gets on my doorstep.
Every time I get something i will be getting a promo, eh? I actually like that a lot, because i am just a huge collector. I like being able to play with all of the cards available. Just a weird little tick of mine. I might be looking at some second hand stores later today, then...
Okay, yeah, I don't have a lot of other people that would want their own set, as we just use mine to play, so that really isn't an option for me. I am thinking that I might just eat the extra cost to save the 10 bucks on the promo card cost.
Once again, thanks.

I was bit by a radioactive Goblin Warchanter PACG card which resulted in me receiving a PACG-sense that tingles whenever a post is made on the forum. And since with great power comes great responsibility, I have set out to use my power for good. I tried at first to only use it for personal gain, but one time my PACG-sense tingled and I didn't respond, which resulted in the untimely death of my beloved uncle who had raised me along with my aunt since my parents disappeared. So now, I only use it for the good of others.
Its a blessing and a curse.
