[Ultimate Psionics] Converting Lashunta

Product Discussion

I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion for making a psionic version of the Lashunta.

I know that you'd remove the Lashunta Magic racial trait and replace it with Naturally Psionic and Psionic Aptitude. But I'm wondering if there is anything else I should add, as I don't know if the two replacement traits are equal to the 5 RP that Lashunta Magic is worth.

That would be a nice addition. Maybe fire off an e-mail to Fat Goblin Games; they are in the process of creating psionic critters in their Mindblast! series. Who knows?

Telepathic lash would stand in for daze. Far hand would stand in for mage hand. Since psi-like abilities scale by hit dice and a Lashunta's level stands in for hit dice, I might leave it there. Mindlink would sub in for telepathy, with the same note that it would get stronger as you level, so maybe place a limit on it, like 3/day.

The females might tend toward wilders and psions while the males might tend toward egoists and soulknives... They make me think of Dromites. I would probably prefer these to Dromites, however.

I had considered this, but Psionic races at least have the Naturally Psionic trait, which would be worth more than the Lashuta Magic trait if it included a straight conversion of the spells to psionic powers.

Ok.

Wild Talent

Benefit: Your latent power of psionics flares to life, conferring upon you the designation of a psionic character. As a psionic character, you gain a reserve of 2 power points and can take psionic feats, metapsionic feats, and psionic item creation feats. You do not, however, gain the ability to manifest powers simply by virtue of having this feat.
. . .
Psionic Talent [Psionic]
Prerequisite: Having a power point reserve.
Benefit: When you take this feat for the first time, you gain 2 power points.
Special: You can take this feat multiple times. Each time you take the feat after the first time, the number of power points you gain increases by 1.

It's a free specific feat either way. Two extra power points is the equivalent of two first level powers or one if you have a 1 point augment available.

After keeping two spell-likes (which admittedly get better) and dropping the higher level one (with more information gathering potential) and swapping out an unlimited ability (telepathy) for a limited lesser one (mindlink), if you still think a specific feat is too much, cut the knowledgeable ability. I may just be eyeballing it, but I don't think it's a problem.
