So I have a player who picked up the cursed pazuzu statue, since no one in my party has any religious knowledge and didn't recognize pazuzu. After realizing the bonus it gave he was psyched (he's a sorcerer so +4 cha is insane at lvl 4) even when the nightmares began.
Now I've made the curse on the statue a bit more subtle. I've removed the inability to memorize spells and the stone of weight restriction, but I'm hoping that I can expand the storyline with my LE player. Any diabolical ideas?

Update: still haven't done much, but the player has realized the problem and the difficulty in getting rid of it. He decided to keep it, mentioning that the lost sleep and constant fatigue is worth the bonus. The other pcs have noticed him behaving erratically. Last session his character took a blow to confidence and chose to take a room in a brothel in kalsgard with a prostitute. He awoke to find her covered in bites and poisoned, to which he quietly left her to die.

My party's enchantment heavy sorceress tricked Slugwort into taking it...
After several good bluff checks and charm person spells Slugwort is now being groomed for the position of caravan guard. Could be fun when he starts getting nightmares...
Heh. I want to hear how that played out.

Well eventually the caravan was attacked by some ogres. Slugwort was torn between defending his friends and his kin and may have whacked the fighter over the head. The fighter wanted to kill him but the sorcerer begged him not to.
Eventually, they decided just to free him.
He now calls himself Lord Slugwort of Brinewall...
