...is the Bird Feather Token wondrous item the perfect way to find somebody in your same plane? You tell him who you want it to take your message to (who, not where) and he goes, unerringly. If you can match a "small bird" speed (Fly 60'-80') you can pretty much find anybody.
And it's a conjuration item, thus maybe even sidestepping Mind Blank
Bump. This seems strange to me that it can be used to find anyone for 300gp. The Animal Messenger spell seems to be more appropriate as a base.
well as the fly spell has minutes duration you'd probably have to do cast it multiple times for it to work for creatures relatively near, wind walk is the next one that'd work for actually long enough, which is a lvl 6/7 spell. You'd probably have to keep doing perception checks to keep and eye on it, go long enough and you're likely to lose it. If you rule it's one of the faster birds the fly spell wouldn't be fast enough
Or you know a druid could easily match speed.
Monks could probably manage with a little bit of effort as well.
Another option. What stops you from tying a string to the thing as soon as it appeared and just make it go slower?
