Sandpoint Under Siege and the Blessed Deck

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

As is oft the case when I have to go a few days without playing PACG, my mind begins to ponder the intricacies of the meaning of the cards (probably more than I should). And I've been trying to resolve a question in my mind about the Sandpoint Under Seige scenario.

I'm pondering the word "start". It doesn't say "build" which is the terminology used in the rulebook for setting things up. So I'm wondering which of these two is the intended setup:

1. Build a blessing deck of only 25 cards, then play as normal.
2. Build a blessing deck of 30 card, discard the top 5 cards onto the blessing discard pile, then start the game as normal.

The only difference it would seem to make would be with Holy Candle, which would have its maximum benefit even on turn 1 and also have a larger pool of blessings to randomly choose from when played. So, probably not a huge issue one way or the other. More of a curiosity.

I think I'm leaning towards #2, since it seems more in line with "start" the blessing deck. Though when I played it, I actually did #1.

EDIT: And that should say Blessing Deck. Dang it.

We definitely meant #1. Read it as "Build the blessings deck with 25 cards."

Ah. Ok. Thanks Mike. Like I said, too much time not playing leads me to think about some of these things more than I should. Appreciate the fast reply.

I think if we'd wanted #2, we'd've said, "At the start of the game, discard 5 cards from the blessings deck."
