Paid the wrong price for a few items, but one of them...

So, I just found out I've been paying the wrong price for the Mossy Disk Ioun Stone. And not just once. I have them on three of my characters.

For those that bought theirs I'll obviously have to pay the 2500gp difference on my next Chronicles if I want to keep them (which I'll probably do), but regarding one of them I'm not so sure:

#4-13: Fortress of the Nail:

The Paracountess's Debt boon lets you "Choose one item worth up to ... 3,000gp (Subtier 8-9) that you receive for free". Naturally, because I love the Mossy Disk, I chose that as my free item. That was 7 months ago, when that character was level 6. He's now approaching retirement.

So, for that one, what should I do?

1) Pay the (I guess 2000gp?) difference?
2) Select another item?
3) Cross off the entire boon?
4) or (hopefully, but unlikely) leave it the way it is?

sadly I agree, the boon does not say "and pay the difference" potentially get an item you have that's worth 2500 use the boon for that, and the "cash" you paid for the other item put towards your mossy disk.

Alrighty.

Looking over his purchases I have one item I bought for exactly 3000gp.

So, next session, just pay 2000gp, make some notes, print out this thread, and I should be good?

Sounds good to me, Nefreet. You're making a good-faith effort to correct the mistake within the spirit and text of the rules. I don't see why anyone would have an objection.
