Green Dragon Flying over Plant Growth

Rules Questions

I have a few questions.

An old green dragon can cast Plant Growth 1/day as an SLA, and also has Woodland Stride.

A close reading of the rules SEEMS to indicate that the dragon's Woodland Stride would not enable it to move unimpeded through an area of Plant Growth (Woodland Stride specifically says that "overgrown areas that have been magically manipulated to impede motion" still affect the dragon).

Now, how high up does Plant Growth run? The trees it affects could be very tall.

Is the dragon's flight speed limited to 10' (assuming it is Large or larger) while flying OVER the Plant Growth area?

How high up? The height of the trees? How tall are the trees after they have been Plant Growthed?

Ah, looks like I've done STUMPED THE COMMUNITY!

Nice!

Sort of throws a monkey wrench into that whole "Plant Growth overrides Woodland Stride" argument, doesn't it?

I suspect that it's less "stumped" and "no one cares to answer such an obvious question."

Next time try reading the spell.

Plant Growth wrote:

At your option, the area can be a 100-foot-radius circle, a 150-foot-radius semicircle, or a 200-foot-radius quarter circle.

You may designate places within the area that are not affected.

Admittedly, it should be sphere instead of circle, but I assume that's because the designers are used to 2D combat. If you read it strictly as a circle, it doesn't affect anything, because a circle has no height to affect anything within it.

That's how high. If the dragon flies through it, yes, it's slowed. If not, no.

So what if it is cast on a grassy field? The grass grows 100 feet high in the middle? How does it stand up?

I think "circle" might mean "circle" and not "sphere".

A circle is two-dimensional and cannot affect anything in the physical world. Really short cylinder, maybe.

Also, yes, the grass grows 100 feet high, it's magic. No one questions where fireballs get the energy to make fire or how disintegrate breaks all molecular bonds, it's magic.

So, wouldn't this 100' grass be obscuring vision as well?

Seems to me the spell would mention this somehow, around about where it mentioned it affected a "sphere" and not a "circle". Which it specifically does not do.
