just starting out
noticed on bane cards it says
"the difficulty to defeat is increased by the adventure deck number of the current scenario, if any."
I am still on the base adventures
my guess is as you add adventures in the upper right corner changes from a "B" to a number?
when it does change to a number like my guess the first set of adventures card add-on will have a "1" instead of the "B".
when this card pops up and you have a 1, 2, etc.. or what ever on the location card you then add +1, +2, etc.. to what ever the card says to "Check to Defeat"?
or am i way off?!?

Welcome to PACG!
B is not a number. So do not add anything to the to those kind of cards when you are playing a "B" scenario (i.e. Brigandoom!, Poison Pill, Black Fang's Dungeon). In other words, treat B like 0.
The scenarios in Burnt Offerings (and all the cards in the Burnt Offerings deck) will have a 1 in the upper right corner.
And yes, when you are playing a scenario from Burnt Offerings, like Attack on Sandpoint, you will add 1 to the Check to Defeat number when you encounter those kinds of cards.

As way of an example. The Warlord is one such card (these cards all have the Veteran trait by the way).
The difficulty to defeat the Warlord is increased by the adventure deck number of the current scenario, if any. Check to Defeat: Combat 9
So during Perils of the Lost Coast B scenarios, he would be a 9 difficulty. During Burnt Offerings 1 scenarios, he would be a 10 difficulty. During The Skinsaw Murder 2 scenarios, he would be an 11 difficulty.
Its important to note that you add that difficulty during a specific step when attempting a check.
Determine which die you’re using.
Determine the difficulty.
Play cards and use powers that affect the check (optional).
Assemble your dice.
Attempt the roll.
Take damage if you fail a check to defeat a monster.
So you increase the difficulty during the "Determine the difficulty" step. That is important because some cards allow you to do things with banes or monsters that have a difficulty below a certain number. Caltrops for example:
Banish this card to defeat a monster whose highest difficulty to defeat is 9 or lower.
So if you encounter the Warlord during Perils of the Lost Coast, Caltrops can be played during the "Play cards and use powers that affect the check" step to defeat him, because he is a 9 or lower. But once you start Burnt Offerings, the Warlord's highest difficulty is 10, so you can not use Caltrops to defeat him.
Again, welcome to PACG. This game is a blast and I'm sure you'll have fun. Don't hesitate to ask if you any additional questions.
