Animal Ally Feat and AC Boons

So, I have a character who played in

Spoiler:

Quest for Perfection 1-3

and got a boon allowing them to add an animal to their list of animals they can choose for an animal companion, but it says if they have the class feature.

So, does the Feat Animal Ally give the Animal Companion class feature for this purpose?

By default, no.

I literally posted about this a few days ago and the general conclusion is that it does not work, you need a companion from a class feature not a feat.
