CC:HoH hard copy?

Carrion Crown

Hi all,

I apologize if the answer to my question is already listed somewhere, but I dug for twenty minutes and couldn't seem to pull it up!

Has Paizo discontinued the Haunting of Harrowstone book? I've been really excited to run this AP, but I like having the material in front of me.
Even Ebay is totally void of this book, and the few that exist on Amazon are in the 50-100 dollar range!

Is this on purpose? Does anyone know why?

Thanks in advance!

(And I would appreciate those of you who have run the full AP listing your best piece of advice!)

It's available on Amazon. I'd also give your local gaming store a call, they might have one still.

Print out PDF?

I agree with calling local game stores

Paizo doesn't do reprints of their APs, Modules, Player's Companions, or Campaign Setting books. Once their initial print run is gone, it's PDF only on the Paizo store. Usually the first book of every AP is both the biggest print run and the first to sell out, from what I understand.

You can check around at various game shops to see if they have it in stock still. I just checked Noble Knight's online store to see if they have it, but they don't have book 1 in stock. Maybe some others will though.

However, from what I've been told and seen here(there's a FAQ for it here), buying the PDF gives you permission to print a personal-use copy out. If you'd like a professionally bound copy, you can take the PDF to a local print shop or do it through a website like Lulu. I haven't used Lulu before, but I've heard good things about them. They offer various softcover bindings as well as hardcover bindings. Black and white print is pretty cheap through them as well. I was pricing out a hardcover 400-page(US Letter size) book in black and white and it was estimating at only $35-40(Color printing was almost $200!). I just checked what a 100-page(US Letter), B&W, perfect-bound softcover, aka a B&W version of a Paizo AP, would run for a single printing, and it was $6 as their estimate. For full-color it was $26. Both B&W and color print options come with color covers.

Of course, if you use a service such as Lulu to do a printing of the book, you want to make sure that you select the "Make it available only to me" option. Otherwise you'll end up putting it up for sale, and that's a violation of copyright and all in all a very, very bad idea.

I have used Lulu in the past for a few college textbooks, and If at all possible, get a spiral bound book. It made things so easy for me, because the book would stay open to the page that I wanted, and I could fold it back to have it take up less space.

Seems to me that it would be perfect for running an adventure path. You could make notes in the margins and have it lay flat in front of you.

Thanks for the helpful info!
I'd never even heard of Lulu but I'm going to give it a go ASAP. As for now, I've been running the game from a PDF file on a laptop and I find it a bit difficult. This will make it a billion times easier!
