Hey PF People,
I am looking to create a fetchling gunslinger character for PFS. I know there's alot of hate on gunslingers, but regardless i want to make it, and i'm looking for help. What are your oppinions on this? I am going to use the mysterious stranger archetype so grit will be based on Charisma. Fetchlings caught my eye cause their ability mods are perfect(dex+2, cha+2, wis-2) for what i want, and they have useful stuff like resistance to cold/electric 5 and shadow blending(50% miss chance in dim light). Im thinking of stats being
Str 10
Dex 18
Con 14
Int 7
Wis 5
Cha 19
Thanks
Primus

Fetchlings are only playable in PFS with a race boon. I think these were only awarded for the high tier of the Grand Convocation at PaizoCon in 2012, so they're pretty rare.
Also, those are some pretty hardcore dump stats. You'll probably find that your carrying capacity will be hard to deal with, and your will saves will make you very vulnerable to enemy spellcasters. Your high charisma will help with some social skills, but you're treading the line of "one trick pony", which can make some scenarios difficult (or boring).

Hmm.. Well I dont know whether the GM's where i play care much about encumberment, but do you think wisdom is more useful than charisma in general? I mean, the party is usually going to be well balanced, and I think the other members will be able to handle what i lack. I dont like well rounded ability score characters much, And I find dex always important, especially since i am going to be a sneaky guy. Lol i just saw -3 will save :/, but i think gunslingers get ok good at will. And mysterious stranger archetype helps with that

You've also got the potential to be a good scout, with solid ranks in stealth and perception. That's a useful additional role to add to a party.
And a scout with darkvision is really the only way to do it.
I agree, it's tempting to grab that 18 and 19, but it weakens your other stats SO much in a point buy system that I don't think it's worth it.
Go with a pair of 16s, and just look at how much your other stats improve.
And I don't care how much of a gunslinger you are, you WILL be forced into melee every now and again. Be ready for that. You don't have to be awesome at it, but you should be able to hold your own with a longsword.

With this wisdom you will be taken out of battle every time you face a spellcaster. Also, you do need a little bit more Strenght for any gunslinger. And I am telling these even if I love to dump stats when they do not offer mechanical benefits.
I would do something like this after racial modifiers:
STR 12
DEX 18
CON 14
INT 7
WIS 10
CHA 16
Also, after your first gundlinger lvl, consider dipping for two lvls the trophy hunter ranger archetype. This way you will gain extra grit for free and QUICK CLEAN back. I consider this dip essential, as it will make your life easier for the rest of your carrer.
Another, more opinional but beneficial dip, is 4 lvls of weapon master fighter after your 4th lvl of mysterious stranger. This will give you access to weapon training + gloves of dueling and more bonus feats, as well as a solution for when going into melee (weapon specialization -> point blank master, easier to take than deft shootist deed).
Remeber that you can take weapon focus through an ioun stone in a wayfinder (opalecent [insert color] pyramid).

I just spotted this thread as I was cleaning up to head home. Primus, let me highlight something a fellow poster noted above.

Keep in mind that if you have Pathfinder Player Companion: Blood of Fiends, you can play a rakshasa-spawn tiefling with similar ability score modifiers.

Yeah thanks i actually had seen that.. I just wish it was easy enough to get the boon cause 50% miss chance in dim light i find awesome

Tieflings with prehensile tail can dual wield double-barelled pistols effectively, if you feel like outDPSing the world.
Hm well that is awesome thanks
