Does death ward help against incorporal undead if thier abilites are not called out as negative engergy?

Rules Questions

The allip does wis drain with a save and the wraith does neg energy HP and con drain that is not. There are some where the HP is not called out as neg energy or anything else but they are touch attacks.

You may have misread the spell.

"The subject gains a +4 morale bonus on saves against all death spells and magical death effects. The subject is granted a save to negate such effects even if one is not normally allowed. The subject is immune to energy drain and any negative energy effects, including channeled negative energy.

This spell does not remove negative levels that the subject has already gained, but it does remove the penalties from negative levels for the duration of its effect."

Immune to energy drain, period, not just energy drain caused by negative energy.

But it doesn't protect from anything else besides Energy Drain and Negative Energy. If it's not a Negative Energy attack, it's not protected.

"Death ward does not protect against other sorts of attacks, even if those attacks might be lethal."

but are attacks from incorporeal undead considered negative energy?

Not unless it says it's negative energy.

For example, a ghost's Corrupting Touch (IIRC) is not Negative Energy damage.

There is nothing under either the Undead Traits or Incorporeal Subtype that says they are so I would say no.

Edit: A quick look at Shadow and you see that it says "this is a negative energy effect" under their Strength Damage ability. So, I stand firmly by not unless it says so in the entry.

thanks
