Hello!!
So I've looked through my Core book, APG, Bestiary and GM book trying to figure out what effects weaknesses have on NPCs, PC's and Monsters. For example:
I cast a fireball on a Ice Giant that has a weakness against Fire. What kind of bonus would the caster get?
Another example:
If I cast a fireball on a NPC or monster that had a wooden shield or gear that was vulnerable to fire, what kind of effect would it have like could it burn it up, or make it useless? Would I roll a D20 to determine this?
Also it would be a great help to know where I can read about this so I'm not constantly asking the messageboards.
Thanks Oliaran

Weaknesses are generally something that causes an enhanced negative effect when certain conditions are met.
Vulnerability is a type of weakness that increases the damage they take from X type damage by 50% (rounded down). For example, your Ice Giant/Treant suffering a 10D6 Fireball (average 35 damage) would have this total damage dealt to it increased by 50% (totalling to average 52 damage). Keep in mind this does not make the Fireball a 15D6 roll, it only adjusts the total damage dealt from the standard roll by 50%.
As far as things catching on fire, that would fall to GM FIAT, (though there is this article that expands upon rules for catching fire).
As a personal note, things that are vulnerable to fire and easily combustible (such as wood) would most likely catch fire when exposed to subjects that deal Fire type damage, regardless of it being instantaneous or not; I'd also adjust the Reflex Save DC of 15 + Damage Dealt or catch fire.
