drow patrons

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Hey guys, I have a quick question about the relationship between drow and the demon lords.

So far as I can tell, there are roughly 30 or so demon lords in the pathfinder campaign setting, and maybe 11 or 12 of them are mentioned as having followers in the form of drow noble houses. Would it be reasonable to assume that the other demon lords might have drow houses devoted to them?

Also, out of curiosity, what are the chances that a drow house would exist that follows a daemon entity, such as one of the horsemen?

Thanks for any answers.

Well, as for having a non-demonic patron, I think the chances are slim.

The one drow house we know that chose a non-demon patron, House Shraen, was exiled.

But I could definitely see minor houses, mercenary companies, and other groups of drow worshipping demon lords other than 12 listed as patrons for the noble houses.

Some work better than others. It's hard to picture the subterranean drow worshipping Pazuzu or Nurgal. But Baphomet could be worshipped as a god of strength and the wild tunnels of the Darklands (which are labyrinthine in nature). Dagon could have a following with traders on the Lake Nirthran. Orcus, Sifkesh, Shivaska, Yhidothrus, and especially Lamashtu all seem good candidates.

It would make a good goal for a drow PC, to raise their own noble house, dedicated to their own demonic patron.
