Kitsune Politics [Breakdown]

Advice

I want to make and break a Kitsune that's heavy on Bluff, Diplomacy, Disguise and Stealth, and any other additional cunning skills, feats, talents, etc.

So far I know Kitsune Rogue Trickster/Gunslinger

Kitsune Racial Trait: Change Shape: +10 to Disguise to appear Human
*Kistune Feat: Fox Shape: +10 on Disguise to appear as a Fox
Kitsune Feat: Realistic Likeness: +10 on Disguise

Gunslinger Feat: No Name (Grit): +2 on Bluff and +10 on Disguise

•Fast Shifter (Su) You were born with an innate talent for switching between your natural forms. Using your racial change shape ability is a move action instead of a standard action. This racial trait replaces kitsune magic.

•Gregarious (Ex) Even among your own kind, your gift for making friends stands out. Whenever you successfully use Diplomacy to win over an individual, that creature takes a –2 penalty to resist any of your Charisma-based skill checks for the next 24 hours. This racial trait replaces agile.

and all the Kistune Tricker Class Features and Rogue Talents included.

What else to raise the ante to a higher level? Any more +10's?

I saw something vague about a Sorcerer with Kistune Boon Bloodline or something...?

* Doesn't really apply to politics but helps in Disguise

For racial feats I highly recommend Swift Kitsune Shapechanger.

Swift Shapechange lets you shapeshift as a swift action, so you don't need the Fast Shifter racial trait and can keep the Dancing Lights SLA, which can be really useful if you're creative. Also, keeping the SLA allows you to qualify for Arcane Strike earlier (rather than level 3 when you'd get Charm Person), which is a nice boost in damage.

Also, if you have feats to spare, you could take a look at the Magical Tail racial feat. Each tail gives you a different spell you can use twice a day, and the spells are all useful for politics and social situations.

Other feats of course include Skill Focus : <your pick> and Persuasive. If you take Persuasive and Quickdraw, you can also take the Betrayer feat, which is a free attack on a successful diplomacy check. Not exactly politics unless you count eliminating the opposition.

Another note, you can qualify for the No Name Grit Feat in two ways without taking levels in Gunslinger. First, you can take the Firearm Training and Grit Rogue Talents to gain the Amateur Gunslinger Feat and follow that with the No Name Grit Feat. Second, you can just take the Amateur Gunslinger Feat and No Name Grit Feat normally, but you don't gain the firearm proficiency as you would had you taken the rogue talents. Either way, you can gain the grit feat without multiclassing.

Mmm. That all sounds quite intriguing. The No Name tip is a big help.

Mumbles: I wonder if you could put the Betrayer feat together with the Surprise Attack talent..?

And yess, I totally forgot about the Magical Tail. Very useful.

Any one else have suggestions?

Define your role. On one hand you're talking about a character who's based on court and political dynamics, and on the other you're tallking about another sneaky battler.

The first should really depend more on your roleplaying than on number crunching, else it's just a variation of the second.

Well, I'd really like to know all the cracks in between social circumstances. Yes, exceling at actual role playing would indeed help get between them, however I am not as good of a role player as I let myself to believe, so I would like to get through more statistically if I can. I've already stated my proposal on what type of character I wish to create, and the Mumble was a hint as to thinking out loud for if anyone wanted to add some other possibilities to the Betrayer and the Surprise Attack, they would be welcome.

In between this time, I've already researched a bit on the Master Spy and it's viewtiful class features, in which I think would help me a lot. :)

I forgot to mention the Underhanded rogue talent, which has the potential to be devastating when used with the Betrayer feat, but requires some more work. If you strike your target with a hidden weapon they don't know about in the surprise round, you deal max sneak attack damage. To Quick Draw a hidden weapon, you can take the Hidden Weapons ninja trick which allows you to draw hidden weapons as a move action, which (if your DM rules it so) would translate to a free action using Quick Draw.

It would play out like this :

Diplomacy -> Betrayer -> Quick Draw hidden weapon -> Strike Flatfooted Opponent -> Deal Max Sneak Attack Damage

If you bluff well enough to create a distraction, you could diplomacize someone you don't particularly like and kill them (potentially) without anyone noticing, and maybe even take their place.

*laughs* I like the way you think, kBro. :o)
