Arcanist (Advanced Class) and - mnemonic enhancer (spell)

Rules Questions

I think I know the answer, but I'd be curious what others think.

Q) What's the ruling on this interaction:
An arcanist either knows (in his spellbook), prepares, and casts a Mnemonic Enhancer spell, or uses UMD to cast a wand of Mnemonic Enhancer. What's the outcome? Can he now prepare additional spells?

Good question, I'd like to know this too.

More slots for preparation, but not more for casting.

Based on the text of the spell, and RAW, I'd say I have to agree.

The spell itself makes no mention of class or restrictions, just says you get to prepare (3) additional levels of spells. That really kicks ass for high level arcanists.

Now...combine multiple mnemonic enhancer spells with a amulet of spell spell mastery (if you take arcane bond or take the feat Eldrich Heritage [arcane]), a mnemonic vestments (for more spells out of your spellbook), and your nearly as versatile as a wizard (with a whole spellbook to choose from), with a fair amount of castings and on-th-fly metamagic.
