Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition - Lucrecia encounter questions

Rise of the Runelords

Hi There,

I am currently running the Anniversary edition and am preparing for the Lucrecia encounter in about 3 sessions time. I have a couple of questions - this is my first time GM'ing so be nice :-)

I noticed she has a touch attack listed as: 'touch +14 (1d4 Wisdom drain+10)'

I assume this is just a standard touch attack ignoring Armor, and 1d4 Wis drain - no problem I get that. But what is the +10?

I am also a bit confused as to how Lucrecia can attack with two weapons with what appears no penalties to the offhand and still have 3 attacks with each dagger?

If she moves and makes a standard attack does she still get an attack with each dagger or does the multiple attack rule apply to two weapon fighting and she just gets one attack?

I know she doesnt have sneak attack - but if she did would it apply to each of the 6 attacks that hit?

A few questions there - appreciate any help :-)

Unfortunately there are a number of minor errors and typos with Lucrecia's stats.
Hopefully below will outline answers to your questions, and some of the errors, or variables that can happen.

1. That is an error, her wisdom drain is just 1d4, there is no actual damage involved. Also the to hit for that touch attack should be +19, there was an error there as well.

2. Her to hit on the dagger attacks is correct. With the Two weapon fighting feat, and using 2 light weapons, you take a -2 on all of your attacks, main hand and off hand, so 13 BAB+7 STR mod=20-2=18. Which means I also think her to hit should be 1 higher thanks to her +1 dagger, and the masterwork dagger.

2.5 As for her 3 off hand attacks, she should only have 1 since she does not have improved or greater 2 weapon fighting.

3. If she moves she would only get 1 attack with 1 dagger, so if she move it would probably be move beneficial to use the wisdom drain touch attack, or cast a spell.

4. If you did give her sneak attack, and if she had a foe in flanking or flat footed, she would get sneak attack damage on all 4 attacks.

A couple of other things to note.

1. In her true form, she actually has a 40ft movement speed, and a 40ft climb and swim speed as well.

2. When using both her weapons her AC is 27 thanks to 2 weapon defense.

3. They gave her a keen dagger, but she has improved critical (dagger), so I swapped it out for shocking to give her a little more damage. Her damage on the off hand dagger is also wrong it should be 1d4+3, because she only gets half strength.

I hope that helps you. Let me know if you need anything else. There is an anniversary edition errata somewhere in the runelords forum, it helps when you are in need.

I just realized on my number 2 that I forgot the -1 penalty on her attack rolls she gets for being large, so her to hit number are right. My bad.

Thank you - that is very helpful. It is as I suspected but I was unsure so it is good to have someone so knowledgeable confirm :-)

I might ignore the mechanics and let her have the 6 attacks just to buff her damage a bit - as I allowed my PC's advanced races so I need to buff things a bit for them.

Do her stats include the false life from activating the Sihedron medallion - I assume not and I have to add this in the first round of combat?

I use the anniversary edition and have another question concerning Lucrecia:
Her statblock indicates a 1 point wisdom damage with her dagger attack (once per round). Where does this come from? I think it has nothing to do with the lamia ability wisdom drain as this is for touch attacks only. Or do I misinterpret something?

Your view is correct for a Lamia. Lamia Matriarchs work differently. Bestiary 2, page 175:

Wisdom Drain (Su) A lamia matriarch drains 1d4 points of
Wisdom each time she hits with her melee touch attack.
The first time each round that she strikes a foe with a melee
weapon, she also drains 1 point of Wisdom. A DC 21 Will save
negates the Wisdom drain. Unlike with other kinds of ability
drain attacks, a lamia matriarch does not heal damage when
she uses her Wisdom drain. The save DC is Charisma-based.

Ah, great. Thx for the answer.
