Jamben Darkeye
|
Good evening all;
I am looking for feedback on this build. I based it on "The Complete Professor Q Wizard Guide.
Jamben Darkeye is a Wizard who used to be a Fighter. He was injured in battle during a Pathfinder mission which prevents him from using martial weapons. Because of his keen intellect and studious manner, he learned to be a wizard through schooling at the Arcanamirium in Absolom. He retains an offensive mindset from his years as a fighter and favors gaining the initiative on the enemy and finishing him quickly. He has an amazing memory which he developed as a fighter through studying enemy tactics, writing battle plans, and practicing combat maneuvers.

Just some quick feedback:
- Quicken spell feat is useless at that level 1 for you, so schedule it for later
- Banning transmutation is a bit surprising. It is a very strong school, I would rather advise enchantment
- Your stats have several issues: They make you VERY susceptible to going down from ability damage or ability penalties, you can almost carry nothing, you have a presence of a well-painted mannequin, and it does not really fit your fighter background (Strength 7 and Int 20 don't fit there, it's too extreme - but that's my opinion only).
Where do you want to go, what is it you want to do in and out of battle?

* This advice is by no means for a power build, so feel free to disregard. *
I can understand background wise that the injury reduced your strength to the point of inability, but you may want to show that background a bit elsewhere. Their are many ways to accomplish that, but a simple one would be to put a skill point in swim, acrobatics or climb to show the training you received as a soldier. Hey even put a point in profession(soldier).
Also, if I were in that guys shoes, I would focus more time on transmutation. Transmutation would be the fastest way of overcoming the injury magically (Bull Strength). May want to consider re-fluffing your background, but otherwise I like it.
