Battle Herald Inspiring Command & Lingering Performance

Rules Questions

So... I am having problem with my player about that.
He is near to get the new level, and so he asked me about be a Battle Herald. No problem for me. To be honest, I am happy for that choice!

The problem is Lingering Performance.

Now, for me, Lingering Performance does not increase of 2 rounds the Inspiring Command ability of the Battle Herald.
Because, and I quote:

"The bonuses and penalties from your bardic performance continue for 2 rounds after you cease performing. Any other requirement, such as range or specific conditions, must still be met for the effect to continue. If you begin a new bardic performance during this time, the effects of the previous performance immediately cease."

So, it is specific for Bardic Performance.

However, my player point out this:
"She may use this ability for a number of rounds per day equal to 4 + her Charisma modifier, plus 2 additional rounds per level after 1st. She may use rounds of bardic performance to issue inspiring commands, but not vice versa. Inspiring commands are language-dependent, mind-affecting effects. The battle herald cannot maintain an inspiring command and a bardic performance at the same time (this does not preclude abilities such as persistent command or the Lingering Performance feat, which continue an inspiring command or bardic performance after the battle herald stops maintaining it)."

And he insists about the fact that Lingering Performance gives 2 rounds also to Inspiring Command ability, after you stop this ability.

Now, we are not American, neither native English speaker. We are Italian.
I am thinking that maybe one of us is making some trouble to understand all of that because of different languages.

Anyway, this:
"The battle herald cannot maintain an inspiring command and a bardic performance at the same time (this does not preclude abilities such as persistent command or the Lingering Performance feat, which continue an inspiring command or bardic performance after the battle herald stops maintaining it)."
Because it is written like that, I think that Persistent Command is relative to the Inspiring Command ability on the second sentence, while Lingering Performance is relative to the Bardic Performance on the second sentence.

So, for me Lingering Performance has no effect on Inspiring Command

Please, help us to get out of this!

Sorry for my bad English, and sure you can laugh to it ;P! lol

You are right. It does not affect Inspiring Command. If you want to house-rule that it does, though, it would be perfectly reasonable.

Seconded.
