Pathfinder Minis

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

I know this isn't the best place to put this but since I trust you guys more than the rest of the site I figured I would ask. I thought at one point I had seen a mini set that was all 11 of the iconic charaters. I was thinking of getting them to replace the character cards to show which location you were at. I looked at the site last night and found nothing. Anyone else got any clues? Thanks.

You can't buy a single box of minis and get all the 11 iconics. (I'm not an RPG player, so I might have some of the terms wrong here. I'm assuming minis are 3D "statues" like the ones made by Reaper.) There is a set of 4 iconics. And you can buy individual ones, but it gets expensive. Vic has said that it would be hard to get a set of inexpensive minis of all 11 made for PACG because they don't want to reuse the ones they have (and rightly so) since people have spent good time and money collecting them all. So that would mean having a new design done for every iconic and then having the minis cast.

On BGG some people have posted files of standees you can print and cut out and then insert into the little plastic stands. Here are two:

I essentially did the same thing. I have access to a nice printer and a special paper type called Aqua Ace. Its highly durable waterproof paper. So I figured out my machine's offset when printing the reverse image as a double sided print job, put it on the Aqua Ace paper, and used a sliver of cardboard to make them fit into Fantasy Flight plastic stands (product FFS32). But those files above would be a more reliable solution that virtually any printer could spit out.

Since we are on the topic of accessories, I'll also say...

I've been working on a few "PACG Accessories" projects with Calthaer. I've made a foam board insert to replace the plastic one that came with the game. It fills the whole box and fits cards sleeved with Ultra Pro Standard Size Sleeves in the same number of sections, and it even has some extra space where I'm storing dice (I put a few extra sets in) and my standees as well as some pencils and pens for character sheets. The plastic insert it came with was truly awesome, but once you sleeve it can't even fit deck 3 in it. But I reused the layout principles from it to make mine.

We've also literally just finished the layout on a two tier turntable. The upper level doesn't rotate, so you can put the blessing deck, blessing discard, and scenario card up there. But than the locations will all fit around the turntable so that when multiple people play they can rotate their character to them so the don't have to see the game upside down. Calthaer just left to sand and stain it and then do the final assembly. We are going to make at least one more now that we have the layout principles down. This one was about 20 inches in diameter. I have a 28 inch circle already cut which would be awesomely large and would not fit on most tables we play on. I call it "convention size". I've also at a couple of 24 inch circles in my garage I might use to make a standard size one or two.

I've also done some personal "layout" guides that I put on BGG. I'm not sure if anyone else will find them usefule, but they are very useful for me. All spaces are sized for sleeved cards.

And the last thing I did was make copies of the skill/power sides of the character cards and cut them out with a paper cutter. That way I can write all over them. I play with that instead of the actual character card and it puts all my feats right in front of me. I didn't do the card side because I use the character sheets as well and the deck sizes are on there. I only need it when rebuilding my deck, at which point I have the character sheet out anyway.

Maybe once we have everything finished well do a "complete accessory" picture. My wife has now informed me though I can not spend any more money on PACG accessories for a while. Though she did like the standees for her Merisiel and Amiri when we played last night.

That all sounds great Hawk. I'm interested in seeing the turntable myself. I don't feel the need to sleeve the cards so the box as is works for me, other than some extra roon for dice and stuff.

I did look over the minis and I think I found a site where I can get the 7 figures that don't come together in a set (the Beginner's Box Set is fairly inexpensive) as singles. If I made significantly better money I'd buy the mini packs but that gets expensive. Maybe I'll get a case with my tax money.

So, now I have to choose between ordering the minis as singles or a weekend get away for valentines day at the place we got married. Think she'll be willing to accept that the minis are as much for her as for me?

Reaper Minis do have many of the Pathfinder Iconics available through their 'Bones' collection (it's a softish plastic), and they have all of them available as pewter. You'll have to prime and paint them yourself though, if you get these. I have a few. The pewter are nice but run $5-7$ or so, but the Bones are cheap a few dollars each. They make decent enough game pieces. Here is the link on this web site http://paizo.com/store/byCompany/r/reaperMiniatures/byProductType/miniature s/pathfinder/bones

Since I do a lot of tabletop gaming, I am getting the pewter since it is what I'm familiar with. And I like painting minis.

The answer to your final question is, 'No.' But you already knew that ;)
