Starting Equpiment in PFS

So, I'm by no means new to Pathfinder, but in every way a great, big Pathfinder Society virgin. From what I was reading up on the slight differences between the two, it seems like when starting a new character, you can have armor that costs more than 10-gp, as long as you can cover it with your starting 150-gp, contrary to out of society play.

Tl;dr can I come to the table for the first time pimped out in medium armor?

Sczarni

Yes.

I've never heard of this 10gp restriction on Armor before though? What's that about.

The thing is you're going to end up selling your first set of Armor pretty quick, at a loss, so you may want to stick to something cheap like hide or 4 mirror Armor.

Ermm.. no idea where you're getting the 10gp restriction from.

TLDR: Yes. Scalemail is the purchase for a fresh new level 1 who wants medium armor.

Huh? Have I been making that up for the past 3 years?

Under starting wealth section it usually says "a character begins play with an outfit worth 10 gp or less"....does that not mean what I think it means?

That's clothing.

Ah, well, that has been an unnecessary handicap I've been playing by.

Okay, thanks guys. Question answered.
