Can anyone explain to me why stealth is a restricted option under this archetype? It's meant to be very animal like... and there are countless animals that are stealthy by nature, or ambush predators... Was this just an oversight, and it is supposed to be allowed? Or am I just crazy for thinking that it should be allowed?

The animal creature type has Stealth as a class skill, so... why is it 'unnatural'?

Stealth is restricted? I don't see it on the restricted list.

Eidolon: The eidolon of a wild caller tends to take more natural and more savage forms than other summoners' eidolons. A wild caller gains 1/4 his class level as bonus evolution points in his eidolon's evolution pool, but his eidolon cannot take the following evolutions:

1-point evolutions: basic magic, magic attacks, skilled (while the eidolon can select this evolution, it can only do so with the following skills: Acrobatics, Climb, Escape Artist, Fly, Intimidate, Perception, Survival, and Swim), unnatural aura; 2-point evolutions: energy attacks, immunity, weapon training, channel resistance, head, minor magic, undead appearance; 3-point evolutions: damage reduction, frightful presence, major magic; 4-point evolutions: breath weapon, spell resistance, dimension door, incorporeal form, lifesense, no breath, ultimate magic.

This ability alters the normal summoner's eidolon class feature, but is otherwise identical to that class feature.

Nope, no Stealth listed there. Stealth is fine.

Bold flavors.

There are a number of restrictions for the Wild Caller that I disagree with, but that is chief among them.

So, everyone is so far in agreement that it just doesn't make sense/look like they read any other rules regarding animals and animal like things? Eh, I suppose that is what house rules are for.

Missed that. Thanks, Rynjin. That's pretty silly, so ignore it if your GM will let you.

Yeah, it seems like a pretty big oversight. Unless the writer's idea of bestial was less "Beast-like" and more "Hulk-like".

Liberty's Edge

I chalk that up to the same Snafu that fails to give the Handle Animal class skill to Oracle Mysteries (Lunar, Nature) that have animal companions, the Animal Domain that grants an animal companion, the Sylvan Bloodline that grants an Animal Companion... Some things just seem to fail the QA oversight.

There are countless animals that try to intimidate potential enemies (e.g. roaring, growling, raised hackles, beating on chests) and yet animals consistently get shafted on that skill as well.
